This happened because we did not think about what the people really needed.
Haruka: We should try to learn more about people who will receive used clothes. If we understand them better, we will know what they need. Now, can you tell us about the activities at your school?
John: We had an experience that is similar to yours. When our school donated for the first time, we collected things that we didn't need. We tried to give those things to families in need in our town, but some families didn't accept them.
Haruka: What did you do, then?
John: We asked them what they needed. They told us that they needed food. We decided to sell things that we collected from our students. We got money by selling the things, and then with the money we got, we bought food and gave it to the families.
Taro: I see. I think it is a good idea to sell things after we collect them.
John: There are many ways to help people. After all, it is important to understand other people and what they need if we want to help them.
