Last weekend, my brother and I wanted to go to a birthday party at our
friend's house. Taking the train was too slow, so our mother and father
decided to drive us there.
When we arrived, our friend's sister opened the window and said, "Come in!"
She was the best visitor I have ever met because she always made every guest
feel welcome. Inside, a student was playing the piano, and another was playing
the guitar. The music was more beautiful than I expected.
On the table, there was coffee and dinner plates. I found a present with a
letter and a message that said, "Happy Birthday! I hope you will carry out
your dreams." My friend was so happy that he touched his heart.
After watching a movie at the theater, we went to the market near the corner.
I wanted to buy a magazine about airplanes, but my stomach hurt and my throat
was sore. My brother's shoulder was tired too, so we went home.
During the holiday vacation, I enjoyed reading every chapter of a story
written by a famous author. I learned that it is important to keep up with
studying, not to leave out anything, to count on yourself, to use up every
minute, to watch out for mistakes, and to get over difficult things. It was
the best vacation I have ever had.

There was a humble old man who lived in a small domestic town. He often
wandered around the zone where an old monument stood, wearing a uniform that
he had kept for many years. Some people who did not know him called him idle,
but he was actually the most knowledgeable person in town, full of wisdom.
One day, a juvenile boy who had had a fierce quarrel with his friends came to
see him. "They neglect me and envy my success," the boy said. The old man,
whose eyes were keen and sincere, replied, "If you compelled others to agree
with you, you would lose them. You should dedicate yourself to understanding
people who are different. Look up to those who are loyal and harmonious."
The boy began to perceive things that he had never noticed before. He learned
to yield when urgent problems arose, to go through hardship, and to absorb new
ideas during his leisure time. He decided to call off the quarrel and give in
to peace.
Years later, the boy became mature enough to qualify as a teacher. He
occupied a classroom where he could reveal hidden truths and obtain respect
from students whom he looked after every day. He retrieved old lessons that
had been forgotten. Whenever he ran into the old man at the monument, he
remembered the adventure that had brought about their friendship. He still
yearned to justify kindness in this fragile world ― and to notify everyone:
never put away your dreams, and never get rid of hope.
